Los Angeles Bluesman Artwork Jamal Dead At 47, 8/13/13 – LA Times
Artwork Jamal once remarked that he not only sang the blues, he lived the blues. Someday, his history of hard luck and ill health may be spun into verse. But the powerful, deep-voiced Los Angeles native will sing no more.

Andrew and I are working on some other surprises as well, so come down and start celebrating your Independence a day early!
Present your paid-up Whiskey Society Membership card at the bar, and the first shot saluting Freedom is on us!
We open at 5pm, and this event is open to the public, so invite your friends and come on down! You can RSVP on the link below, just so we have a general head count and know what to plan for:
Luke and I worked it last year, and had a blast. To be clear, THIS IS NOT A SEVEN GRAND SPONSORED EVENT. But, Dustin and Luke will be in attendance, serving up some Peaty cocktails, and you know they roll.
We hope to see you on Wednesday. Happy Independence Day from all of us at Seven Grand!
Pedro, currently sipping Jim Beam. Keeping it real.

Seven Grand’s very own Dustin Newsome presents to you the world famous Old Fashioned. This delightful concoction consisting of Bourbon, bitters, sugar and citrus has been a Seven Grand staple since our opening in 2007. Traditionally, the first use of the name “Old Fashioned” for a Bourbon whiskey cocktail was said to have been, anachronistically, at the Pendennis Club, a gentlemen’s club founded in 1881 in Louisville, Kentucky. The recipe was said to have been invented by a bartender at that club in honor of Colonel James E. Pepper, a prominent bourbon distiller, who brought it to the Waldorf-Astoria Hotel bar in New York City. Now, a staple cocktail in any establishment based around traditional classic cocktails. Check out how Dustin and the Seven Grand mix it up. We have it batched up on tap too!
