Pedro, currently sipping Connemara Peated Single Malt. Not a bad way to end the day.

If you’re going to stay at home and watch the Derby, at least make yourself a decent Mint Julep. Here’s the beautiful Brent Falco, Bar Manager at Cole’s, giving a great demonstration:

The Whiskey Society has been growing fast, and we are truly grateful for it’s popularity. In order to keep providing the best experience we can, we will be changing some of the ways we do things. First of all, there will be a $15 first-timer charge. We have had non-members RSVP and then not show up, blocking paid-up members from being able to attend. This new charge should help take care of that.

Secondly, we want to get an opinion from you as to the possibility of moving the meetings from 7pm to 8pm, as some people have expressed the difficulty of making it in time for the 7pm tastings. You can register your opinion in the RSVP form, even if you can’t make it.

For more information on the Seven Grand Whiskey Society L.A., check the link beneath my signature. We are also available to host Private Tastings, check the Flight Menu link to learn more on that.

Memberships can be purchased at the bar. Dues are $120 a year and allow you to bring a guest to any event. First-timers can pay $15 after members have been seated to get in, space allowing.

Thank you for your continued support through our growth and change. It’s Seven Grand’s birthday this month, we feel very fortunate to be a part of the revitalization of Downtown L.A. these past 6+ years!

Go ahead and make your Derby Day plans to be with us, this year our viewing party will be sponsored by Woodford Reserve and Old Forester, details to follow. Look for an invite soon, this event will be open to the public.

If you haven’t been down for Happy Hour lately, you may not know that we now offer pizza until 8pm. (For those of you who need food with your whiskey.)

We also have free live music at 10pm almost every time we have a 7GWS meeting, stick around afterward to check out some jazz sometime.

We look forward to seeing you.

Pedro, currently sipping Henry Weinhard’s Private Reserve.
